    The 4304A is an insertion-type RF wattmeter, designed to measure RF power levels and load match in 50-ohm coaxial transmission lines (VSWR) using just one element, already included.
    4304A, Fixed 25-1000 MHz 5-500 Watt Element, Wattmeter uses the basic construction of the Model 43 and modifies it with a special broadband element and range switch for general purpose RF power measurement without the hassle of carrying a set of individual elements.

    BIRD General Purpose Wattmeter Series 43 - The Industry Standard
    A field-proven portable, insertion-type instrument designed to measure both forward and reflected CW power in coaxial transmission lines under any load condition. With a full-scale accuracy of ± 5%, it accurately measures RF power with low added VSWR and insertion loss. QC (quick change) type connectors and a full range of plug-in elements provide a wide choice of frequency ranges and power levels giving the Model 43 amazing flexibility. Two extra elements can be stored in the housing, one on each side. The Model 43 is easy to use and simple to service in the field.
    Accurate CW field power measurement over 450 kHz to 2.7 GHz and 100 mW to 10 KW.
    Uses industry standard Bird elements with space to store 2 additional within the meter housing

    APM-16, Average Reading Power Meter is designed to keep pace with the ever growing complexity of digitally-based communication systems. Bird's model 43 and most other wattmeters available today were designed to measure power of constant amplitude, sinusoidal waveforms.
    Modern wireless communication systems can use a variety of digital techniques to combine many voice data channels into a complex, composite RF signal. Measurement of such signals with a conventional wattmeter may yield unacceptable errors. The APM-16 employs active circuitry to deliver accuracy of ± 5% for multiple-access technologies such as CDMA, TDMA, FDMA and other digitally-encoded communication systems.

    TOTAL PORTABILITY
    Each R8100 is shipped with a lithium-ion battery weighing only 490g. The battery powers the unit for up to 90 minutes and can be field-replaced in less than 30 seconds. Simply open the cover, remove the battery, and insert another on the side of the unit. During AC power, the R8100 charges the internal battery, and when AC power is disconnected, the unit seamlessly switches from AC to DC without interruption. The R8100 display shows available battery capacity at all times. Spare batteries and an independent charger can also be purchased for applications requiring extended portability.
    HIGH-PERFORMANCE TRACKING GENERATOR
    Our tracking generator option provides an integrated instrument that sets the RF generator into sweep mode. The extraordinary dynamic range and response time offer an invaluable tool for measuring and servicing RF filters and matching networks like IF filters and Duplexers. The wide selection of display and marker functions ensures fast and accurate measurements. Antenna return loss and VSWR measurements can be made using the optional return loss bridge (R8-VSWR).
